Zabbix Is Celebrating Its 8th Anniversary! |
8 years ago on 7 April 2001 Zabbix was released for the very first time, and we would like to congratulate all – and our colleagues in the first place – creators, developers and managers as well as our loyal customers and users! It seems that just yesterday the staff of the company consisted of one person only and Zabbix was not known by the public at all, but now we are already a professional Team, and the Zabbix solution is being used by many companies in the world.
We thank Zabbix community for the support, challenges and great ideas you have been giving us. We will continue improving and developing Zabbix to make it even more advanced monitoring solution!

In the middle of March Zabbix SIA announced the release of two new versions of Zabbix – Zabbix v1.6.3 and v1.6.4. Both versions have new features as well as bug fixes.
New in v1.6.3 and v1.6.4:
- the main menu has become dynamic
- new supported checks
- much faster dynamic SNMP indexes - the development work was supported by XS4ALL (Netherlands)
- flexible configuration of the default dropdown behaviour
- support of quoted SNMP strings

A good news for the Japanese-speaking and Russian-speaking users of Zabbix – now the Zabbix home page is available in these languages too!
With the knowledge that our monitoring system is popular in Japan and Russia we with our partners' aid created translations of the official Zabbix web-site into these languages and we hope that our customers and users will make a good use of them.
Along with the introduction of the Japanese and Russian versions of zabbix.com we decided to create a number “localized” Zabbix forums, where our users could communicate in their local languages. The Russian Forum is already working!
