Zabbix Team Is Growing! |
We are pleased to announce that in the beginning of this year there were noticeable changes in our team. The number of the company employees has nearly doubled - new developers have joined us, and our Technical Support Department has welcomed one more specialist.
We are very glad that new and new experts are joining our Team and we are convinced that the Zabbix product will become even more mature and easy-to-use, but the process of customer service and communication with Zabbix community - swifter.

Zabbix Team is glad to inform that the next training session consisting of the Zabbix for Large Environments and Zabbix Certified Specialist courses is scheduled from May 25 till May 29, 2009. We are inviting all interested Zabbix users willing to learn more about the solution itself, its configuration, usage and improve their skills to attend it. The courses are delivered in English and upon completion of the courses the trainees will receive official Zabbix certificates.

On 13 and 14 April, 2009 in Moscow in the conference centre “Infoprostranstvo” the conference RootConf is held. The organizers and supporters of the conference are employees of the biggest IT companies of Russia, leaders of the web-developers community, representatives of the largest vendors and various thematic associations. The conference will be held in Russian.
Alexei Vladishev, CEO of Zabbix SIA, will also be present. He will address the conference with the talk “Zabbix and distributed monitoring of thousands of servers”.

On 29 and 30 April 2009 in Nürnberg an Open Source conference organized by the company NetWays (a leading German hosting and managed solutions provider specializing in Open Source solution) takes place. Its agenda includes a variety of presentations, hands-on workshops and social networking, where top IT professionals will meet, discuss, learn and share their expertise on Open Source solutions for large IT infrastructures.
Alexei Vladishev, CEO of Zabbix SIA, will participate in the conference and deliver the speech “Open Source Enterprise Monitoring with Zabbix”. It involves an overview of Zabbix: its history, functionality and an outline of the features planned for Zabbix 1.8. The architectural and technical aspects of Zabbix will be covered in order to show what makes Zabbix an attractive solution suitable for performance, availability and business level (SLA) monitoring of large-scale distributed environments.

The beginning of this year turned out to be very dynamic for Zabbix SIA: the long-awaited planned trip to Brazil finally took place. We would like to thank our partner in Brazil, the company Unirede, for their assistance with the organization of this journey as well as their input in the arrangement of the first Zabbix training session consisting of Zabbix for Large Environments and Zabbix Certified Specialist courses.
Brazil has already been known as the country, where Open Source products are well-recognized and widely used, for a long time. There Zabbix software is used in big corporations as well as small companies, and some of the most reputed users are:
- Brazilian government agency Procergs (Zabbix is monitoring more than 500 servers for them);
- Petrobras (Brazilian energy company, which is a significant oil producer and major distributor of oil products);
- SERPRO (Serviço Federal de Processamento de Dados – the largest public technology application service provider in Brazil);
- Dataprev (Empresa de Tecnologia e Informações da Previdência Social – the technology and information bureau of the social welfare system of Brazil);
- Renner shops (Lojas Renner SA – the biggest clothing retailer of Brazil).
We think that this visit was an important step in building Zabbix community in South America and promoting our monitoring solution. Zabbix has already earned a significant popularity level among local IT specialists, and Alexei valued the opportunity to meet them in person. We hope that there will be more such visits in future, and we will have a chance to work with our partners and companies from South America even more effectively.
MIRACLE LINUX CORPORATION, Zabbix Reseller company has translated the 1.4 version of Zabbix Manual into Japanese. This is a very good piece of news, and we hope that now Zabbix users from Japan will be able to run Zabbix even more effectively. The Manual can be downloaded from www.zabbix.com.
