Zabbix 1.6.5 Is Getting Ready For Its Release
In the next weeks we are planning to release the next version of Zabbix belonging to the stable branch of 1.6, Zabbix v1.6.5. This version will mostly contain corrections of the bugs discovered by Zabbix users as well as new minor functionality pieces. Stay tuned! Zabbix 1.8 Will Be Out In October 2009
Probably, many users of Zabbix have already noticed that the version 1.8, which was supposed to be released in May, has not been presented yet. We would like to confirm that its release has been postponed for October 2009. In the beginning of this year we decided to change current release policy and to improve the already released v1.6, and then deliver v1.8. Now, along with the development works and testing of the new features for v1.8, v1.6 is getting amended – the bugs are getting fixed, and slights changes in the functionality of the system are being introduced. As we stated before, Zabbix v1.8 will aim for better scalability, ease of use and higher level of interoperability. The indicated release time October 2009 of Zabbix v1.8 is final, and no more date changes will happen. Zabbix users, thank you for your patience! Zabbix Gets A New Reseller In Spain
This year on April 22 Zabbix SIA and ALDABA Servicios Profesionales concluded a Reseller Agreement. ALDABA is a Spanish IT professional services Company. It focuses its activity in two main areas: Custom Software Development and Systems Integration and Operation. "One of our main business areas is Systems Integration and Operation. That means our customers put their IT infrastructures in our hands, and we have the responsibility to administer and maintain it up & running. In order to achieve an optimal quality of service, using a suitable monitoring tool is vital. That was the reason to perform an analysis and testing of the best open-source monitoring tools. Why open-source? Because it is very important for us to have the possibility to adapt functionalities, to design a solution tailored to the customer's requirements. As you can imagine, Zabbix won the match", said Jose Antonio Castelao, CEO of ALDABA. The complete text of the release is available at www.zabbix.com. |
