I’m pleased to greet you this summer day. Zabbix Team have had five-day long holidays devoted to solstice celebration. So the mood is great and also we are miles ahead from our fellow competitors in “What’s your favorite Linux monitoring application” survey. On behalf of all Zabbix team I want to thank you for your votes and comments which are so nice to read.

Bringing Zabbix Quality to a New Level
We all want Zabbix to be as good as possible - and many have already helped to achieve that with vigorous testing. If you still haven't done that, now is your chance to participate in making sure that the next release of Zabbix is better than ever.
Starting with 1.8.3, Zabbix release process will become more standard-like and a release candidate phase will be introduced. A release candidate is a phase where a release is considered finished, but larger audience is invited to verify that. At this phase only really serious bugs will be fixed to minimize the chance of regressions.
Release candidate, or "rc" for short, gives you a stable target to test in your environment and ensure that things you rely on work as expected. The release candidate package will be available for download by the middle of July - make sure to head there and test extensively.
First Reseller in Russia
At last, we got official reseller in Russia. CROC (www.croc.ru) is a leader in IT infrastructure design and implementation and the No. 1 systems integration service provider in Russia (IDC reports, 2002-2009). CROC has been operating in the IT market since 1992 and is a major Russian business partner of global IT leaders and since May 2010 is offering Zabbix and related services to their local customers.

Training Session in The USA
This is a great chance for all US Zabbix users to pass Zabbix certification and achieve knowledge. Zabbix professional training will take place in US, Greenwood Village, Colorado from August 9 to 13, 2010.
The training session will consist of Zabbix Certified Specialist and Zabbix for Large Environments training courses. Along with hands-on workshops and exercises the training will provide complete overview of functionality and configuration of the latest Zabbix version.
The courses will be delivered by Rihards Olups - Senior Zabbix Analyst and the author of the well known book "Zabbix 1.8 Network Monitoring".

Zabbix is Going to FISL11
Fórum Internacional Software Livre (Translation from Portuguese: International Free Software Forum) will take place in Porto Alegre, Brazil from July 21 to 24 and one of the speakers will be Rihards Olups, the Senior Zabbix Analyst. We are excited to participate in this event and hope to meet lots of Zabbix friends there. The agenda is still under development, so stay tuned for presentation topic and latest updates.
