Zabbix 1.8.3 to be Released in June
The release of a new minor version of Zabbix 1.8 branch is set to the beginning of June 2010.
Significant performance improvements of Zabbix Server and Proxy will be carried out in Zabbix 1.8.3. Number of database writers to be made configurable; it helps to use most of the available system resources. Server and Proxy require much less memory and produce less load to the database.
Just one example: for a very large system monitoring 100K of hosts with 1M performance and availability checks is now necessary only about 256M of memory opposed to 1G needed with the earlier releases. Zabbix 1.8.3 delivers much better performance at lower memory and CPU usage!
