Meet Our Team at FOSDEM
This week-end, February 4-5, Alexei, creator of Zabbix, and Aleksander, key developer, will attend FOSDEM in Brussels, Belgium. It is very important for our company to stay up-to-date with the newest developments and technologies. And FOSDEM is a great place to gather new ideas and share the experience with other open source community members.

Novotelekom is a leading provider of telecommunication services in Novosibirsk, Russia that is focusing on offering broadband internet, digital television and web services. Novotelekom has implemented Zabbix solution across the company infrastructure to improve service performance and to ensure the quality and stability of running processes.
Gemeente Den Haag is the Municipality of The Hague which provides a full range of services to more than 500,000 of its residents, thousands of businesses and millions of tourists visiting the city each year. From issuing visitor's digital parking permits to managing public transportation system, from helping its residents to find housing or work to assisting in establishing and running a business, Gemeente Den Haag has to ensure fast and reliable operation of all these services. Den Haag made the decision in favor of Zabbix because of a combination of both health monitoring and performance statistics in one solution, and a wide variety of OS such as Solaris, Linux, Windows, Novell, etc. that can be easily monitored by Zabbix.
Zabbix Conference 2012 Location
We are happy to make an announcement about the location of our next international event - Zabbix Conference 2012.
First of all, we want to thank all the participants of the "Zabbix Conference 2012 Location" poll, which took place on Zabbix Forum. We really appreciate your participation, as well as your comments regarding the upcoming conference location. We took into consideration your location preferences, as well as the Zabbix SIA strategy and vision for this Conference and have decided that Zabbix Conference 2012 will take place on September 21-22 in the company's home town, Riga, Latvia! We hope you will appreciate our choice, as Western and Eastern Europe was second favorite on the list of locations. The Zabbix team will do its best to make this event not only professionally productive for all of us, but also fun and entertaining, so you could combine the official part with your holiday/vacation plans.
This will be the second big international conference organized by Zabbix, which will focus on Zabbix software features and possibilities, company’s future plans and the vision of Zabbix system development. Zabbix is an international company with most partners and customers outside its home country, Latvia. But we are always trying to support local communities. This year Zabbix will be a proud participant of RTU Karjeras diena (RTU Career Day), a major exhibition for young job seekers, organized by students of the oldest and largest technical university in Latvia.
Zabbix is going to take part in this exhibition and give a presentation on how to develop your ideas into a successful company and not be afraid to fail. We will share our experience of developing business from start-up and give some tips on how to grow into an international enterprise.
And The Winner Is….
Our Christmas Newsletter invited you to participate in the Zabbix Championship. In the following five weeks we received many championship forms, both realistic and not-so☺. While digging through the forms we were happy to see that many of you already have the latest version of Zabbix 1.8.10. Moreover, we were pleasantly surprised to know that for some of you older versions of Zabbix are still powerfull enough to monitor your environments. We also have understood that many of you could not take part in this competition due to the strict security rules at your enterprises, but then you still have a nice chance to compare yourself against those published champions.
So welcome our winners in the following nominations:
King of the Hosts goes to a company under the nickname TCS with 3,637 hosts carefully monitored by Zabbix. The runner-up for this nomination is MRSK-C with 3,268 hosts.
Master of the Triggers is again TCS with 63,471 triggers in use. The runner-up is SHATEL with 44,332 triggers.
Lord of New Values per Second is Conf***, Inc, with a result of 919.85 new values. The second best result is achieved by HomeServe with 552 new values per second.
Though we have promised not to have any prizes for the 1st places, medals in the memory of Zabbix Championship 2012 will be shipped to our winners in upcoming days. Hurray to winners!
