NEW Zabbix 1.8.11 is Out NOW
On the 20th of March Zabbix have announced the release of the latest Zabbix 1.8.11 version. Several improvements were made including updated translations in the following languages: Brazilian Portuguese, French, and Japanese. Error messages for missing SNMP instances are now more user friendly and the support for individual CPU statistics was added on system.cpu.util item on FreeBSD. Support Virtual Monitoring
Even though we just released Zabbix 2.0.0rc2 we are already thinking of improvements that could be brought about in Zabbix 2.2 version. Currently we are considering focusing on the virtual environment development. The main functions that we are thinking of including in Zabbix 2.2 are:
- Support for VMware, Xen and KVM
- Monitoring the hypervisor and guest virtual machine status using hypervisor API
- Management of the guest virtual machines from the Zabbix frontend
In order to make these functionalities powerful and more user friendly we will need some backing so we are looking for companies that would be interested in partially financing an integrated virtual environment support.
