Last Beta Version of Zabbix 2.2!

The Zabbix team officially announces the release of the third and last beta version of Zabbix 2.2 – Zabbix 2.1.9! Please download it and give it a try in a non-production environment. In case of any issues or bugs found, please report it to our bug tracking system.

Results from Bugsquash Tuesday 2013

Yesterday Zabbix community spent 17 hours on IRC channel, communicating and helping the Zabbix team of developers to discover and fix all the bugs that were found in Zabbix pre-2.2 versions.

Here are some stats of the bugsquash event: 159 commits, 37 issues resolved. Zabbix developers still have two blocker issues to fix before Zabbix 2.2.0rc1 (Release Candidate).

We would like to thank all our community members, true Zabbix fans, followers and users for being with us on this Bugsquash Tuesday!

1st Meetup of Belgian Zabbix User Group

On November 28, 2013 you are all welcome to come to the 1st community meetup of Belgian Zabbix User Group that is taking place in Kortenberg, Belgium.

During the event, Lieven Gryp, a speaker from Prodata Mobility (a company that is running Zabbix on all kinds of different architectures, even in house developed hardware), will talk about Zabbix, covering topics on how the company uses Zabbix to monitor hardware, software and business processes of the automatic ticketing system.

Newly Built Partnerships

We are proud to announce that for the last couple of weeks Zabbix Company has built new partnership relationships with three companies:

• East Japan Accounting Center Co., Ltd. (Fukushima, Japan) and Zabbix Japan LLC have signed a Certified Partnership agreement.
• FINAXYS from France has signed Certified Partnership agreement with Zabbix SIA.
• TIS Inc. (IT Holdings Group, Tokyo, Japan) and Zabbix Japan LLC (Tokyo, Japan) have signed a Certified Partnership agreement.

Becoming certified partners of Zabbix, all three companies can now expand their service list and provide official Zabbix support to their clients. More details on these alliances can be read on the Zabbix website in the Press Release section.

Top-Up in Zabbix “3rd Party Tools” Section

Zabbix “3rd Party Tools” collection was recently and successfully enriched by two new developments:

• DBforBIX (by Andrea Dalle Vacche) – a daemon designed to work in combination with Zabbix to provide multi-tiered monitoring, performance and availability reporting and measurement for the many kind of different databases, along with server performance metrics.
• ZBXAPI for Ruby (by Andrew Nelson) – designed to provide a straight forward ruby like interface to Zabbix via the Zabbix API. It is released under the LGPL making it suitable for inclusion in other projects.
