As you all already know, on Tuesday last week, November 12th, Zabbix team announced the release and availability of Zabbix 2.2. To celebrate this important and joyful event, Zabbix team organized a small Zabbix 2.2 party in the Riga office, featuring wide smiles, satisfaction, good music and a sweet cake.

The PostgreSQL Monitoring Template for Zabbix

We are glad to introduce to you a new entry in the Zabbix 3rd Party Tool section – the PostgreSQL monitoring template for Zabbix (pg_monz), designed by two Zabbix Certified Partners, SRA OSS Inc. Japan and TIS Inc.

pg_monz is a template for monitoring PostgreSQL for various parameters such as alive, resource, performance and others. This tool supports automatic discovery of databases and tables using the discovery feature of Zabbix and can automatically start the monitoring process. Please download it and give it a try!

Gettext made optional for Zabbix frontend [ZBX-7250]

The Zabbix frontend comes with multiple language support, but for the translations to work, it used to require the PHP to be compiled with gettext module support. Starting with 2.2.1, installing gettext is optional, so if you're not planning to use Zabbix in a different language, you can skip it. This will make the installation procedure a bit easier.

Zabbix Continues to Grow in Japan

In upcoming months the Japanese market will see an influx of information about Zabbix. There are four grand events planned for this November and December where you can find out more about Zabbix software, its performance, features and capabilities. And, of course, we invite all of you to join us at these upcoming events:

• Zabbix Conference Japan 2013, taking place on November 22nd in Tokyo. More than 10 presentations will be delivered at the conference, all related to Zabbix Monitoring Solution. The conference will start with an opening speech by Alexei Vladishev, founder & CEO of Zabbix SIA who will also deliver his talk, called “Zabbix: Where We Are”.  More details


• The latest technology seminars about PostgreSQL and OSS integrated monitoring tools, taking place on November 26th in Osaka and November 27th in Nagoya. At both events information on Zabbix, including introduction to the Zabbix 2.2 functional verification report and how to monitor PostgreSQL, will be presented by SRA OSS Inc. Japan, a Certified Zabbix Partner.


• Open Source Conference 2013. Enterprise that will be held on December 13th in Tokyo. The conference is dedicated to open source products and related services for an enterprise-level systems. At the event, representatives of Zabbix Japan LLC will have a booth, and will be happy to answer your questions, related to the Zabbix product and services. More details

Zabbix Webinars – Make Sure to Make It!

There are 14 Zabbix webinars currently scheduled for this November and upcoming December. The webinars will be held in 6 different languages, including English, French, Italian, Portuguese, Russian and Spanish and will cover the following topics:

Further Training Sessions in Portuguese, French, Italian and Russian

In less than two weeks, Zabbix Professional Training is about to take place in the following countries: Brazil, France, Italy and Russia. All four training sessions will be held from December 2nd until December 6th and cover both levels of Zabbix certification: Zabbix Certified Specialist and Zabbix for Large Environments . However, you can choose to attend either one or two of these.
